Portland,
Ore. -- June 25, 2007 –
As part of a global Internet initiative by Sheraton Hotels & Resorts,
Eleven Wireless, a leader in on-demand software and technology services for
hotel broadband networks, has been selected as a preferred technology provider
for the Link @ Sheraton. Currently rolling out to Sheraton hotels worldwide,
the Link @ Sheraton creates a “connection destination” or communal technology
lounge in the lobby where guests can meet, work and play.
“We
are committed to making sure guests can stay connected to what matters most to
them during their stay,” said Brent Rumsey, director
of Brand Experience, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. “Link @ Sheraton
provides our guests with a warm, comfortable environment to catch up on work,
email their family and friends or just sit back and relax. It’s just one way
that Sheraton is creating the ultimate guest experience utilizing the
industry’s best in guest-service technologies.”
Eleven
Wireless was selected from a large group of competing companies, in part due to
their track record with Sheraton and Starwood.
“We
are pleased to expand our ongoing relationship with Starwood Hotels &
Resorts,” said Andrew Yorra, chief operating officer of Eleven. “While we’ve
been supporting individual Starwood properties under various flags for years,
this agreement will significantly expand the presence of Eleven solutions to
properties around the world looking to implement best-of-breed broadband and
business-center solutions at their hotels. It is certainly an honor to be
chosen as a Preferred Provider.”
A
closer look at Link @ Sheraton, ElevenBC and ElevenOS
The
Link @ Sheraton takes advantage of underutilized hotel lobby space by creating
a communal lounge featuring comfortable seating, refreshments and a plasma
television. Multiple Internet-enabled computers complete with free 24/7
Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as PrintMe features for printing
airline boarding passes and other documents. These service are available for
Sheraton guests and visitors.
ElevenBC is a cost-effective, centrally managed, all-in-one guest
computer and printing solution for guest use. ElevenBC is available not just as
a Windows-only solution, but also on Apple hardware where it is the only guest
computer solution that offers both Mac OS X and Windows environments. On both
systems, all content, data and security vulnerabilities are removed at the end
of each user’s session. Administrators control the system via a centralized web
interface, allowing easy maintenance, brand control and usage reporting.
ElevenBC can display the hotel or franchisor brand, allowing consistent guest
experience.
ElevenBC is fully integrated with ElevenOS, a
centralized billing and authentication system for managing guest connectivity
at hotels. This integration allows properties to configure, manage, report and
reconcile guest broadband and business center computer usage through one
system.
“Providing a comprehensive, easy-to-use
computer solution for hotel guests has always been a challenge,” Yorra said.
“We are delighted that Eleven is part of the Starwood initiative to bring these
services to guests at the Link @ Sheraton. We believe demand for these services
will continue to grow, and as such, are committed to continuing to develop
solutions meeting our customers’ needs and helping enhance the guest
experience.”
