Eleven® Wireless Announces
New Business Center Computer Solution
Eleven®BC, the newest software product from Eleven, gives hotels the ability to deploy in-room, lobby and business center computers for guest use
NEW YORK, New York — November 14, 2005
— Eleven® Wireless, a leader of software for managing public-access
hospitality broadband networks, today announced Eleven®BC, a new lobby
and business center computer solution.
ElevenBC offers
hotels the ability to deploy an elegant all-in-one computer that guests
can use to access email, applications and the Internet, as well as
print in high-quality color and black-and-white.
ElevenBC is the first business center solution that caters to both Windows and Mac users.
ElevenBC runs both
Microsoft Windows XP and
Apple Mac OS X,
and includes generally used applications including Microsoft Office.
Guests pay for computer use and printing by swiping their credit card.
Broadband Internet access is included. ElevenBC is a turnkey solution
that ties into Eleven’s on-demand broadband billing software,
Eleven®OS, thereby enabling centralized reporting, management,
troubleshooting and updates.
“We have been working for quite some time to standardize our
business centers and lobbies with computers for guest access,” said
Andrew Furrer, Director of IT for
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
“ElevenBC fits the description of what we were looking for, and we look
forward to deploying the product as a standard at all our properties.”
The ElevenBC product is based on an Apple 20”
iMac G5,
and runs both Mac OS X and Windows XP Professional. Users can switch
between the two operating systems while in a paid session. Microsoft
Office applications are available for use with both operating systems,
in addition to games and other entertainment programs. Included in the
offering is an
HP
2550 color laser printer, available to use for a fee on a
per-printed-page basis. Hotels can deploy ElevenBC in their existing
staffed business centers, or put the new solution in other areas of the
property that are not staffed.
ElevenBC is the next step in Eleven’s product strategy and takes
advantage of the company’s software expertise in the hospitality
industry, states Josh Friedman, co-founder and VP Marketing for Eleven.
“By listening to our customers, we realized that there is a vast
untapped opportunity to deliver a well-integrated, flexible and
reliable business center computer.” He continues, “ElevenBC was
developed with hotels in mind, and is integrated with our existing
on-demand broadband billing and management product,
ElevenOS. This means that network service providers can deploy this product and integrate with existing broadband networks.”
“Eleven has made strong progress in the hospitality industry with their
software in 2005,” said Skip Rafferty, Director of Strategic
Partnerships,
RoomLinX, Inc.,
a leading hospitality network service provider. “The ElevenBC product,
in conjunction with ElevenOS, provides NSPs with a complete broadband
solution for guests traveling with or without laptop computers. Their
solution fully addresses this market need, and we are happy to be
working with them.”
ElevenBC is immediately available directly from Eleven, or through its partners. Please contact Eleven for more information.
