Nomadix in Wi-Fi Deal with Eleven Wireless
Nomadix, a
supplier of public-access products such as gateways and embedded
software applications, said it has entered into an integration
partnership with Eleven Wireless, a Portland, Ore.-based provider of
software for Wi-Fi network management.
Under the terms of the deal, Eleven will provide its ElevenOS Wi-Fi
operations platform for integration into Nomadix’s Gateway products.
The integrated product will be targeted at network operators to enable
account management, authentication, and billing applications.
Founded in March 2002, Eleven Wireless is now exploring its first
institutional financing. Josh Friedman, chief executive officer, said
he targets $1 million for sales as well as continued product
development. Mr. Friedman co-founded Eleven with Andrew Yorra, vice
president of sales and business development, and Joshua Blank, vice
president of research and development.
Eric Rosenfeld, former vice president of marketing at Mentor
Graphics, serves as chairman of the board at Eleven; he is an investor.
The ElevenOS platform is designed as a hosted product for use by
carriers, retailers, and wireless ISPs.
Founded in 1998, Nomadix has raised about $40 million to date. It is
backed by AvTech Investments, BancBoston Robertson Stephens’ Bayview
Partners, Intel Capital, ITX International Equity Corp., Keystone
Venture Capital, Mellon Ventures ll, Spinner Asset Management, and
Smart Technology Ventures.
